To see what Caffeine do to you need to look to Dependence vs Damage scale of the psychoactive drug on your body, Dependence on Y-axis means how addictive a substance and damage scale on X-axis represents how much damage it does on your body.

The amazing thing about Caffeine and weed is it’s on that same Y-axis it means it has same dependency level as of weed but the bad news there to notice is that it a more right side of the plot, so it also does high damage on the body as compared to weed. Yes, coffee is not as bad on addiction on Dependence prospective but yes it harms your body.

Unlike weed which is not legally available, you won’t find people smoking a joint openly but you find people sipping 3 cups of coffee in a coffee bar and say it a stress-buster. We live in a society where we grow-up listening coffee/tea are served as a beverage to guests with snacks and so how can we get convinced that coffee is bad; sugar is evil but modern-day medical complications prove this notion.

What science had to say about coffee? Let’s hear that too.

The hero of the picture is Adenosine; this adenosine goes to your brain and adds with adenosine receptors when these two molecules combine results in some effects and the effects are. More the adenosine in your body means more it will combine with adenosine receptors in your brain and more you get fatigue as you progress through the day. You feel it in the form of lethargy and mind signals to you,”Hey I am tired I need a break”.

Example– If you drive a car and through exhaust pipe smokes came out as a by-product of fuel consumption in the same way car is your body through which you supply adenosine, and smoke is your adenosine receptors as a by-product in the brain.

ROLE OF CAFFEINE: HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOUR HEALTH?

How does coffee and Caffeine comes in a picture because adenosine has a same chemical structure they really fit well in each other so if they fit together they don’t really allow effects to take place that takes place otherwise so Caffeine prevents adenosine from combining with its receptors it means under normal circumstances adenosine molecule an adenosine receptor signals your body you are tired.

But if you consume coffee and those Caffeine molecules they combine together and  allow the other adenosine molecule from combining so your body doesn’t get the signal essentially you are fooling your body you are not tired and full of energy and you get kick your body believes this that’s the primary reason why Caffeine wakes you up.

Adenosine has a same chemical structure they really fit well in each other so if they fit together they don’t really allow effects to take place that takes place otherwise so Caffeine prevents adenosine from combining with its receptors it means under normal circumstances adenosine molecule an adenosine receptor signals your body you are tired.

#But what happens when if you are the one who develops the habit of drinking coffee regularly?

This is a new state of your brain your brain doesn’t understand why those adenosine molecules are combining with the receptors so it compensates by producing new adenosine receptors to counter the effect of Caffeine this is a big issue in long-term because if there are more receptors and every time you don’t get Caffeine to fill up all those receptors now they will combine with adenosine and the effect of fatigue will get amplified.

So, you end up feeling more fatigue and other effects are obviously if there are more receptors you need more Caffeine to create the same effect. That’s why people end up having a lot much coffee in a day its addiction is just like cigarettes.

Unlike most other psychoactive substances, caffeine use is socially acceptable, and the drug is widely used. In fact, caffeine is the most commonly used psychoactive substance in the world.

 #Hormonal changes by caffeine?

ROLE OF CAFFEINE: HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOUR HEALTH?

It works just like how the adrenaline rush into your body when you encounter the dog there is an instant spike of adrenaline in you will run much faster, your mind becomes sharper, and you become more active but this is all in an artificial way.

That’s why Pre-workout has a lot of Caffeine in it and this is a major issue of all gymers they get a hit when they take it before gym to increase their physical dependency but if they miss it for a day their workout doesn’t feel to be done.

This is not a good way to improve your proactiveness you shouldn’t be dependent on an external substance for your cognizance.

The major effect it creates is it has effect on Dopamine level in your brain which is a neurotransmitter that linked with your happiness so if you do activity you enjoy that what spike dopamine level and what caffeine does is it had much effect on dopamine level so every time to hike your dopamine you should inject Caffeine into your body it is just like handing over your happiness to an another person.

This is a major concern although having so many bad effects Caffeine is good in some places.

Yes, it helps in the weight loss it increases your fat mobilization which simply means it breaks your stored fat into the fat that can be mobilized. That’s why Caffeine used as a fat burner in a way but the greatest add-on to remove fat is not a supplement it is good quality sleep.

Caffeine also affect one’s sleep so in a long-term you are compromising your sleep which isn’t good anyway because Caffeine has a half-life of 6 hours so if you consume 100mg of Caffeine in 1 coffee and you consume it on 9 A.M. : 100mg, 3P.M.: 50mg, 9P.M. : 25mg so it takes 6 hours to half the amount you have consumed.

But what problem arises is if you are consuming coffee in late hours lets say 6 P.M. it stays in your bloodstream for about 6 hours that’s how it affects your sleep cycle. You are basically affecting your quality sleep for a coffee; remember it doesn’t matter how much hours you sleep but how many hours you have taken a quality of sleep.

Summon up I tell you about how the Caffeine has scientific effects on one’s body it all internal effects which are hormonal effects that lead to all external changes in your body and might lead to anxiety, depression and other health bugs because of lack of good sleep.

 ALTERNATIVE:-

For coffee lovers you might think I am disappointed to all those facts but can’t help myself to stop drinking coffee so what should I do then?

I suggest keep moderation which is good to go and you can have a cup of coffee for 2-3 times in a week, not enough. You can substitute this with green tea which does wonders for your body. Choose your fluid cup wisely.

Your fitness is much more important than these 20-30 rupees of fluid cups with sugar but ya sometimes it’s also about your fun when you are in social gathering and don’t what to put your point on how coffee is so detrimental (you also shouldn’t do so) drink coffee but remember everything in moderation is good otherwise it will have control on you.
